Suda Akari, 2015 7th Senbatsu

Suda Akari’s 7th Senbatsu speech (English subtitles)

Here is Suda Akari’s speech for the 18th position from the 2015 AKB48 41st Single 7th Senbatsu Sousenkyo General Election.

To all of those who voted for me, and to all of those who I’ve met until today, thank you very much.

I was really looking forward to today.

In last year’s election, I was selected at 10th place. But with that result that you gave me, in this one year span, I didn’t have the strength to protect that rank, and I was not selected in this year’s 16 person senbatsu.

Today, I thought you’d place me in the senbatsu and that no matter
where I went, everyone would be watching me… but my hard work was not enough.

I was very strict with myself, only tried my hardest, and so many times I felt I had reached my limit… I wanted to see your smiling faces, and not let you down…

I continued on like this, with all my strength, and came to this point, little by little. But perhaps during that time, I forgot how to enjoy myself.

For an idol, I knew that the most important thing was to enjoy myself. I wasn’t able to do that, I think that’s why my current rank dropped.

From now, as long as you’re with me, I really want to change everything and see your smiling faces, so please continue to support me. Thank you very much.
