Courtesy of a recent episode of Music Station comes a ranking which simply asks, “Who is a music artist that symbolizes 2015?” How did Japan’s most popular idol group fair?
First, the result:
There’s AKB48 at #8 position!
What’s surprising here is that the song which allowed AKB48 to place at the #8 position was not any of their major singles this year — not Halloween Night or Bokutachi wa Tatakawanai.
It was, “365 Nichi no Kami Hikouki”, which gained extreme popularity for being the theme song to NHK drama, Asa ga kita. What’s even more amazing is that the song is not yet available for purchase (as it is the on the B-Side for Takamina’s last single Kuchibiru Be My Baby, which goes on sale December 9, 2015).
If you haven’t listened to it yet, it’s a great song, and Yamamoto Sayaka does a very excellent guitar solo version:
I’m writing about useless and stupid things a lot, and I like to laugh. My policy is 一期一会。It means treasure your meeting with everyone!
