At a recent theater even in Nagoya’s Centuary Hall theater, the promotion of six kenkyuusei was announced!  Here are the official announcements, profiles and commentary of the new members. Is this the future of SKE48?!

Official news of the announcement outside the theater came in various forms.  First, SKE48 Mobile’s Twitter feed:

“SKE48’s Winter Concert 2014 has begun (Jurina has come back; one foot forward, Christmas unit festival!). During a night performance, the promotion of six kenkyuusei was announced. Team S: Sugiyama Aika, Nojima Kano. Team KII: Obata Yuna, Shirai Kotono. Team E: Goto Rara, Suguwara Maya.”

Individual member commentary was also made public via a Nikkan Sports article, with translations and profile photos as follows:

Sugiyama Aika: “To everyone who supported me, truly, thank you very much. I never thought that I’d be able to get into Team S. Now, I’m wondering if I’ll be part of the ‘Party Hajimaru-yo’ theater performance. I’m so happy. Thank you very much.” (応援してくださったみなさま、本当にありがとうございます。まさか私がチームＳさんのところに行けるなんて思っていませんでした。これからも「パーティーが始まるよ」公演をやっていくのかなと思っていて。すごくうれしいです。本当にありがとうございます。)

Nojima Kano: “Everyone, thank you very much. Amongst the 7th generation members, I’ve had a lot of frustrating memories. I really wondered if there was going to be announcement today… maybe it would be about Rara or Kakana. But I definitely never thought it would be me to get promoted. I always wanted to be part of Team S, so I’m very happy.” (みなさん、本当にありがとうございます。私は７期生の中で、悔しい思いもたくさんしたんですけど。今日はもしかしたら発表があるかなと思って、でも楽々とかかな…とか、まさか自分が昇格とか絶対思ってなかったので、一番入りたかったチームＳに入ることができて、本当に幸せです。)

Obata Yuna: “Everyone, thank you very much. For a long time, I thought I’d always be a kenkyuusei. But now, today after being promoted, I was really surprised. From now on, I want you a different side of me, as part of Team K2. Please continue your support.” (みなさん、本当にありがとうございます。まだ研究生でいるのかなってずっと思っていたんですけど、こうして今日昇格ってなって、本当にびっくりしているんですけど。これからは、違う一面の私も、チームＫ２さんで出していけたらなと思うので、よろしくお願いいたします。)

Shirai Kotono: “Everyone, thank you very much. When I heard the promotion announcement, I thought it would never be me; I felt frustrated and started crying. I never thought I’d be able to get promoted, so I’m really happy. I’ll try my hardest from now on, so please look out for me, and please continue your support.” (みなさん本当にありがとうございます。昇格という発表を聞いて、絶対自分じゃないなって思って、悔しくて泣いていたんですけど、昇格できるって思ってなかったので、本当にうれしいです。これからも頑張るので、見ていてください。よろしくお願いいたします。)

Goto Rara: “Thank you always for your support. I’m Goto Rara. I never really thought that I’d get promoted. At first, I was in an ‘under’ position in Team E; at that time, I knew how friendly everyone was, and I really admired that team. I’m not sure this is real yet but, from this moment onward, I’d like to become someone who contributes toe Team E.  Please continue your support.” (いつも応援ありがとうございます。後藤楽々です。まさか本当に自分が昇格するなんて思ってなかったし、最初にアンダー（代役）で出させていただいたのがチームＥさんで、その時にすごくみなさんが温かくて、憧れのチームだったので。まだ実感はないんですけど、これからチームＥにどんどん貢献していける人になりたい。これからもよろしくお願いいたします。)

Suguwara Maya: “I was chosen by Team E during the Draft meeting. I knew that I’d be promoted eventually, but I never knew when. I thought it would take three years or so, and I wondered when I’d be part of Team E.  I also didn’t really appear much in the ‘Party Hajimaru-yo’ theater performance, and that made me frustrated. I never thought I’d be promoted so quickly, so I’m very happy.  I really, really want to try harder.  Please continue your support.” (ドラフト会議で、チームＥさんに指名してもらって、昇格する先が決まっていたんですけど、いつ昇格できるのかなって。まだまだ、３年後とかそのくらいかかるのかなって思っていたんですけど、いつチームＥに昇格できるのかと思っていました。「パーティーが始まるよ」公演の初日にもなかなか出られず、悔しい思いをしたんですけど、こんなにも早く昇格できるとは思っていなかったので、本当にうれしいです。もっともっと頑張ります、応援よろしくお願いいたします。)
