Were you happy with the result of Request Hour 2016? I was surprised too! But anyway, enjoy an AKB news summary of recent events.
Halloween Night appeared in Request Hour 2016 at #4. Kodama Haruka was chosen as center and, according to 755, it appears to have been Sasshi’s choice:
“I took charge of Sasshi’s position in Halloween Night. It looks like Sasshi chose me. I was so nervous dancing in front of all the senbatsu members!”
More request hour news! During the last MC portion, Tatsuya Makiho was giving out ratings for everyone’s “cuteness.” She did so similarly on an episode of Otomari, but Komiyama Haruka adds some variety by giving food names. Here are the results:
- Iino Miyabi: stir fry ginger and pork
- Okawa Rio: preserved seaweed
- Taniguchi Megu: Rice ball
- Sato Kiara: boiled/tossed taro root
- Owada Nana: meat bun
- Mukaichi Mion: stewed pork
- Fukuoka Seira: pickled eggplant
- Ichikawa Manami: spring roll
- Yumoto Ami: korean short ribs
- Yokoyama Yui: seaside kochi
- Miyazaki Miho: Sweet and sour pork
Do you agree with these fabulous food nick names?
What do you think?
According to King Record’s website, even though the original members are participating in the next single, they won’t be available for related handshake events. Too bad, but not really surprising.
In a recent episode of Count Down TV (CDTV), they conducted a poll of what groups / artists would have a breakthrough year in 2016. Here’s the result #1 result: Nogizaka46’s sister group, Keyakizaki46! That was pretty surprising. I might have expected NGT48, but it could be my bias. Others listed in the top 10:
- 1位：欅坂46 (Keyakizaka46)
- 2位：星野源 (Hoshino Gen)
- 3位：DOBERMAN INFINITY
- 4位：米津玄師 (Yonezu Kenshi)
- 6位：BLUE ENCOUNT
- 7位：ミセスグリーンアップル (Mr.s GREEN APPLE)
- 8位：アルスマグナ (ARSMAGNA)
Miyazawa Sae was recently part of a long-form interview (it is about 10 pages). When asked about memories concerning theater memories, she’s mentions: “The AKB48 theater is really my home”, and follows up by saying, “In the very end, that’s where I want to finish.” This is despite her still being part of SKE48, so we may see her shuffle yet again!
The official AKB48 Newspaper was released earlier this month (with a very interesting cover!). In an interview with current general manager, Yokoyama Yui, when asked about who to ‘sell’ the younger members, she’s quoted as saying, “Just a little before, Paruru and I went to visit AKimoto-sensei, and we consulted with each other.” Other interesting portion: during elections, when younger members became depressed, Akimoto-sensei attempts to cheer them up by saying, “This is just a festival, it’s okay!”
Ikuta Erika told Akimoto Manatsu to buy five copies of her new photo book.
It goes on sale on January 21st. Let’s hope it sells well!
Miyazaki Miho almost mentions Yukirin’s scandal during an MC segment. Whoops.
She gets as far as saying, “scanda–” before stopping herself, but was apparently a very funny moment.
Imamura Etsuro is the current manager of NGT48, and appeared recently on Fuji TV program “SWITCH”, with other members of NGT48.
During the program he mentions that he intends to have NGT48’s CD Debut appear within the year, which is pretty fast considering they haven’t been around for very long. I wonder what their first single will be like.
Ooya Shizuka’s fashion sense came into question recently, when she proudly proclaimed that she received clothing from Akimoto Yasushi. Here’s what she received:

She says she likes men’s clothing and the color blue but, well, it looks a little loose on her!
Well, Paruru has dyed her hair, which often sends wota into a rage! Here’s the proof:
The crazy flipping action in the NGT48 theater is not the only trick being performed these days. It seems that Kato Mina has incorporated baton twirling as well:

Nogizaka46’s Hashimoto Nanami is appearing on her own TV show, which is airing locally on Hokkaido’s Bunka Houso channel. As you know, Nanamin is a native of Hokkaido.
The show is titled, “Hashimoto Nanami koi sure bungaku”, and focuses around Hashimoto’s favorite novels, and visiting places in Hokkaido that appear in those novels. It is labelled as “intellectual entertainment”, so it will probably not be as funny as Nogibingo!
Kawaei Rina appears as a guest on Nippon TV drama, Higanbana. No other details given, other than she will play a role that is “completely different” from ones she’s had in the past, thought some photos screens were shown of her appearance, in addition to some photos that Rina posted to Twitter:

Speaking of Kawaei Rina: she is going to release a photo and easy book called “Korekara”. A clip from one of her essays was released as promotional material, where she confirms that she has dated a guy in the past. It’s not clear whether this was during her time in AKB or not, but wota are nonetheless pretty harsh about this type of thing.
I witnessed this while back, but forgot about it. Tano Yuka recently appeared in a musical titled, “DNA SHARAKU”. Some photos of her appearance provided by modelpress.com and Tokyo Pop Line:
To best honest, the contents do not appear to be very interesting (sorry, Yuka!), but thought it was worth mentioning at least.
Yamamto Sayaka appears in the February 2016 issue of BOMB magazine; quite a number of off shoot photos were shown via Twitter:

Wow, honestly, it’s just my opinion, but she is so beautiful!
Watanabe Miyuki appears in Shukan Playboy’s February 1st, 2016 issue:
As it turns out, NGT48 also appears in the same issue:
I will stop here. Sorry, this news is about one day behind, but I want to sleep early today (^_^;
