Enjoy that snow in Kyushu too

Off topic, but enjoy some rare imagery of Kyushu’s historical sights covered in white. This is actually from a few days ago, but it is not just Hakata that is getting snowed in lately.

Hakata is in Kyushu, home of HKT48. Therefore that makes this post officially on-topic, right?! If you agree, keep going, fine reader!

As the headline suggests, if reports are to be believed, Kyushu is covered in snow.

This is rare photo of Kumamoto Castle covered in snow. Just for reference, here is what the castle normally looks like:

While snow generally sucks to be in for the unprepared, it certainly makes for some wonderfully beautiful imagery. Our next destination is a place named Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, and is probably one of the most popular shrines in Kyushu’s Fukuoka.

First we have a set of images courtesy of Twitter user @sima_touken:

For the uninformed, there is also a pond and walkway leading up the shrine’s main hall — the snow-covered version is captured masterfully by Twitter user @tatewaki2010:

Having been to Daizaifu Tenmangu myself, there is something about these icy landscapes that makes me appreciate its beauty even more. However, I would definitely not want to be anywhere near there right now!

Stay warm guys.
