For me, I look forward to the other things about the election too. I’m from Niigata, so I might be biased, but I’m curious about their rankings.

Even though it’s what I wanted, in 2014 when Mayuyu took the top spot, everyone in the event space was crazy happy. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but it looks like Sasshi will win again this time.

  • I had the same state of mind when Sasshi won for the first time. She was too strong. And yet she lost against Mayu the year after.

    Why would this year make a difference? People claim it would be boring but it’s just a conflict of interest.

    I think if I were the AKB member who won 1st place and Sasshi didn’t participate, then I would feel like I really didn’t win first place because I would feel like I didn’t beat the top girl or something, you know? So I think for an AKB member gunning for the ace position, it would really deflate the spirit and competitive drive to be number one if the number one girl bows out.

    If the strongest members back out then it would devaluate the event and media and the general public would eventually lose interest. I mean if she backs out who’s next? Mayuyu? Yukirin?
